FPE-TV has posted new video footage of Emil Werstler of the Atlanta-based quintet DAATH shredding the axe. Check out the clip below.
As previously reported, DAATH has been forced to cancel its previously announced summer festival appearances. Guitarist Eyal Levi stated: "These fests were booked so far apart with no gigs in between that there was no way we could financially afford to stay in Europe all that time without resorting to either begging for change or selling our bodies in the red-light districts. While we'd love to take part in the latter, none of us are attractive enough to compete with the working girls and therefore we apologize to all the festival organizers, booking agents, and most importantly fans for this. Cancelling is something we hate to do. However much this sucks, a much more realistic European venture has come our way in the form of the CHIMAIRA / UNEARTH / THROWDOWN tour which will hit almost all of Europe in September and October! We're looking forward to touring with some of the best bands metal has to offer as well as sharing the road with our brothers in UNEARTH yet again! See you guys there!"
"The Concealers", the sophomore album from DAATH, sold around 1,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD debuted at No. 35 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
"The Concealers" was released on April 20 in Europe and April 21 in the U.S. through Century Media Records (via a partnership with Roadrunner Records). The album was produced and mixed by Jason Suecof and Mark Lewis (TRIVIUM, ALL THAT REMAINS, DEVILDRIVER).
