Arch Enemy Guitarist Says Band Will Have New Studio Recording Available By October

Swedish/German extreme metallers ARCH ENEMY will perform on October 17 at this year's installment of the Loud Park festival, set to take place October 17-18 at Makuhari Messe, a convention center in Japan located in the western region of Chiba Prefecture, close to Tokyo.

Commented guitarist Michael Amott: 'We're honored that ARCH ENEMY can once again be a part of Japan's premier heavy metal event! The shows we've done at Loud Park in past years have been very special. I truly wish every metal fan could experience this festival — it really is something else! This year will have an awesome vibe as usual, I'm sure!"

He continued, "By October we'll have a new studio recording released worldwide, and the set we do at Loud Park 09 in Japan will reflect that, of course! The title and full details of this album we've been making in somewhat secretive, or at least in a low-key manner will be made official very soon.

"We are in the process of finalizing more shows in this part of the world (Australia has already been announced earlier this week). We'll be playing a few locations in the Far East that are new for ARCH ENEMY. We'll be confirming and announcing live shows over the next days/weeks.'

ARCH ENEMY will return to Australia in November for a phenomenal headlining tour. Direct support on the dates will come from New York death metal legends SUFFOCATION. Also appearing on the bill is WINDS OF PLAGUE.

The first two Century Media releases from ARCH ENEMY — "Stigmata" (1998) and "Burning Bridges" (1999) — will be reissued in North America on August 11, 2009, featuring new layouts, additional slipcase packaging, multiple bonus tracks (including live tracks from Japan featuring former vocalist Johan Liiva) and much more. The titles will be available in Europe on May 25, 2009.
